General

Where do the tours start?

All tours start and end at Bodestraße 5. It is located right next to Friedrichsbrücke in central Berlin and is very easy to find. The guide will be waiting with the bicycles and wearing a sign that says "Guide".

What attractions do you cover?

Each tour is different, and we make no guarantees that a certain attraction will be visited any given tour. However, as a general rule, we will during the 3-hour tour strive to cover the lakes, The Lustgarten, Alexanderplatz/the TV-tower, Bebelplatz, Gendarmenmarkt, Checkpoint Charlie, The Berlin wall, Old watchtower of the wall, Hitler´s bunker, The memorial for the murdered Jews of Europe, The Brandenburg Gate, The Tiergarten, The Siegessäule and the Reichstag. On the 1.5-hour tour you can expect to see just about half of the above mentioned attractions and our main focus on this tour will be on Hitler and Nazi Germany. However, if there is a certain sight or attraction that you would really like to see, please feel free to ask the guide before the start of the tour. 

What level of biking-skills is required?

In order to participate on one of our tours, you must have experience in riding a bicycle. All are welcome, who can bike at a fairly slow pace in a foreign urban environment. These tours are by no means designed as a type of workout. All tours will be at a fairy slow and steady pace, in order for you to appreciate the surroundings. 

Is it safe to bike in Berlin?

Yes. Berlin is generally a very safe city to bike in and before the tour starts, your guide will give a few safety instructions for when you hit the road as well. If you want, you are also able to reserve a helmet for your tour.

Do you provide helmets?

We do provide helmets. During booking, you can choose the number of helmets you would like for your group. We charge 3 EURO per helmet. 

Will there be food and beverages on the tour?

We do not serve either food or beverages on the tour, however you are more than welcome to bring your own with you, as long as you are able to bike. On our 3-hour tour we will make a stop at a local food place, where you are able to try some local specialties.

Are children allowed on the tour?

No. The tours are not suitable for children or people with poor health. If however your child is capable of riding at a steady pace and above 140 cm you are more than welcome to join us for a tour.

What if it rains?

If it should rain, we will provide rain-ponchos to you before the tour. In cases of extreme weather where biking is not possible, you can either get a refund or rebook for another day. We do ask you to meet at the meeting point regardless, as it is up to the guide to decide if the tour runs or not

What kind of bike will we ride on the tour?

For the tour, we provide traditional city bicycles that are comfortable and easy to handle.

Booking

Do I have to book in advance?

Yes, all tours must be booked in advance via our booking page on our website.

What is your cancellation policy?

Cancellations requested at least 7 days in advance of the scheduled departure are refunded in full. Cancellations requested between 3 and 6 days in advance of the scheduled departure are refunded 50 percent. Cancellations requested within 2 days of the scheduled departure are not refunded. All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing to contactberlin@citybikeadventures.com
